The Estate

Built before 1830 by a local winemaking family, Le Clos Vinzelles has stood at the edge of the village for two centuries, looking out across the vineyards of the Mâconnais.

The estate overlooks “Les Quarts”, a vineyard once owned by the family that built the property, and recognised as Premier Cru in 2024 — a reminder of the deep connection between the house and the surrounding landscape.

The property retains its original stone structure, with traditional materials, generous volumes, and a layout shaped by both domestic life and winemaking activity.

The garden reflects a traditional Burgundian jardin de curé, with sculpted hedges, mature fruit trees, and seasonal planting — a space designed as much for living as for growing.

In restoring the estate, care has been taken to preserve its character while introducing comfort and simplicity suited to contemporary living.

To minimise waste, work was carried out only where necessary, with a focus on maintaining the integrity of the original buildings rather than modernising for its own sake.

Today, Le Clos Vinzelles is open to guests seeking a quieter, more authentic experience of Burgundy — one rooted in place, history, and the simple pleasure of time spent together.
